Example checkup for Garlic Press Co.

This is a made-up store. Your checkup uses your own reports and costs. In your own report, you tick Done as you make each change; here the boxes are switched off.

You could save about $151.96 a month

From Aug 17, 2026 to Oct 15, 2026 (60 days) you spent $1,074.30 on ads. After what each product costs you, those ads lost $28.69.

Some of your ads make money, which hides how much the others lose. Pausing only the ones that lose keeps the ones that earn.

Ads cost 10% of all your sales, from Aug 17, 2026 to Oct 15, 2026.

How we decided

  • Sales can take up to 7 days to show up, so we ignore the most recent 7 days of daily numbers.
  • We never call a keyword a dud before it has had at least 15 clicks.
  • We wait for twice as many clicks as it normally takes your product to make a sale.
  • When we can't tell how often shoppers buy your product, we assume 1 in 10 clicks becomes a sale.
  • A keyword that made sales is only called a loser after it has spent at least $20.
  • A campaign counts as forgotten when it has been running for at least 120 days.
  • A forgotten campaign has to have spent at least $50 to be worth flagging.
  • A product is only called a money-loser in ads after at least $50 of ad spend.
  • If a product keeps less than 15 cents of each sales dollar after costs, ads rarely pay for themselves.
  • Products priced under $15 are held to a stricter test, because there is little to spend on ads.
  • For products under $15, we say don't advertise when they keep less than 25 cents of each sales dollar.
  • We only judge a product page after at least 100 shoppers have visited it.
  • A product page looks weak when it converts at less than half the rate of your similar products.
  • We only compare product pages once at least 3 of your products have had 100 or more visitors.
